Another shining example of how stricter gun control only affects law abiding gun owners who actually go through the proper legal process of getting fingerprinted and registering their legally owned firearms. NJ is one of the strictest states in terms of gun control, and yet we have two individuals, whom neither had a carry permit, and most likely had stolen guns. Monroe was right, LONG mandatory sentences are the answer. We'll see if a mandatory 25 years will cut down on brazen crap like this.

it does not matter where he comes from, and when a shooting happens its not so safe. Keep living in your bubble. Btw Gv is a 5 min train ride from dtjc so the hood is your neighbor.

We are heading for metal detector check points at every entry point for public transport - We have them at schools, some government and private buildings already.
News like this is starting to be socially acceptable and forgotten about within the next few days if not tomorrow!

Its news like this that makes JC a hard sell for families to chose and live here.

Experienced cops can usually tell if someone is carrying a handgun-a bulge in their waistband, the way they have their hands positioned, perhaps a silhouette that is unbalanced. Two people in one PATH car both carrying (what I'm sure) are illegal guns, carried illegally is the problem-not stop and frisk. Stop and frisk is a solution, not the problem. Thugs packing heat in public places is the problem.

Gee, have you not seen the murder rate drop in NYC over the years of stop and frisk?

I see NYPD riding on the subway a lot of times. Never seen any PAPD police officers on the PATH train.

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable response to being dissed in public. Pull out your gun and start shooting.
Who are these people? Idiots.

This is why we need stop and frisk. Please stop and frisk me, I have nothing to hide. Unless you have something to hide, you shouldn't have to worry. How is it that two people on the train both have guns! this is insane.

asny, are you kidding? The issue is that these criminals are packing heat on the subway.

It seems that people who want stricter gun control often oppose stop and frisk. Which method may have prevented this event? I'll bet neither thug has a gun license, let alone a carry permit.

Mandatory LONG TERM sentences are the answer.

People need to be more courteous and refrain from starting these silly fights over inane things that hey blow out of proportion. So scary. Hopefully no innocent bystanders were injured.

A woman and her brother were shot at the Pavonia PATH station in Jersey City this morning and a third person shot when the brother fired back during a confrontation aboard a moving train that spilled onto the platform, WABC-TV News is reporting.

The television station quotes witnesses as saying a man bumped into the woman on the train as it was moving and was then confronted by the woman's brother. The man then pulled out a gun and shot the woman in the ankle and the brother in the leg, the news report said.

The brother then pulled out his own gun and fired back, WABC quotes witnesses as saying.
