We are playing right into their hand. They are winning! They are ridiculous and offensive and downright insane but they want us to talk about them and get mad at them and put them in our line of fire (figurative, of course).

By protesting in front of an urban high school with a track record of violence, they are just increasing the likelihood that they will somehow be victimized, by teenagers, no less.

It's a publicity coup. And that's their whole point.

Gross gross gross. Gross. Double gross. Yet legal, for now at least.

Barf.

If schools were privatized, they wouldn't be able to protest there. Just sayin.

Yes, and if the streets were paved with gold...sigh.

But it does make me wonder if there is not a law on the books that prohibits protests within a certain distance from a public school. And/or there is bound to be a sexual predator in the group who isn't allowed to be there. Just a guess.

You don't need to type in caps. I clearly understand your point. You don't need to insult, either. Your points should be able to stand alone, without insults.

This is still protected speech, whether you like it or not.

If you counter protest with a great deal of humor, it kind of makes them look stupid. Like this.

No, you just don't agree with the 1st amendment. Speech you don't agree with is still protected.

Of course you can, no one said you couldn't. It seemed as though you wanted to prevent some from being able to use their right to speak, which would be incorrect.

Yeah, you'll defend until it's a group that you disagree with.

Anyways, you don't have to defend it -- you just have to recognize that you have no right to infringe another's right to speak.

That's weird, because when you protest something like, let's say the G-20, you are met with brute police force.

Seems slightly hypocritical, no?

sorry, FTF, but part of freedom of speech includes freedom to be THAT ridiculous. once we start picking and choosing who gets to say what, we're doomed.

And for those of you appalled by their actions with some disposable income, might I suggest this?

There's a same sex rights activist group that has people pledge X amount for every minute these people are out there protesting, and then they send thank you cards to Fred Phelps letting him know how much money he raised for them:

Phelps-A-thon!

Do whatever you can!!
