Their entrees routinely make lists of "most unhealthy meals in America," so that's probably a good indication of why they are popular.

Can you really call a menu eclectic if it has every food known to man on it?

It's just another place to accelerate type II diabetes.

I'm not a huge fan but can discern the distinct qualities of TCF over its competitors.

1. Free bread that is quite delicious
2. A truly eclectic menu
3. Large portions
4. Different types of cheesecake

Maybe Leonard will get a position at the Cornell Campus opening on Roosevelt Island and Penny will become a waitress there. By then the twins Enrico and Neils Hofstadter will be born causing her to be a SAHM, so probably not. I've never been to a CF, so I'll have to try it since I subscribe to Sir Thomas Beecham's famous quote:

Pants with an expanding elastic waistband. You can order the 5000 calorie diet salad and the cheesecake.

I'll be damned... When the first rumor surfaced and was posted here, I just assumed someone was blowing smoke up our collective asses. Really surprised to see a Cheesecake Factory opening at Newport Centre. I am sure the place will be packed with hour long waits for tables. I remember when the one in Hackensack first opened, it was not at all unheard of to be told one would have to wait 2 to 3 hours for a table.

It might be "suburban" but I actually enjoy this place. Pretty good salads and several other good dishes. The menu can get overwhelming, but they do a pretty good job in delivering a good meal.

There was discussion in a thread over the summer about the possibility of The Cheesecake Factory opening at the Newport Mall. It looks like construction is underway, this photo shows the East side of the mall facing the Newport Light Rail station.
