We bought our 24 inch front loader Maytag from DT HD. We carried it home in our minivan. We bought our large LG double door icemaker fridge from DT HD. Found a better price for it at Sears on line. HD refunded us the difference.

Downtown: Simple to get to, brightly lit, easy to navigate, less crowded, and actually don't mind the parking deck. Rt. 440 is a pain to drive on traffic can be a problem. Area is not as safe as the residential streets surrounding DT. Secaucus is depressing.

Sears has it in stock for 899 plus a 50 dollar mail in rebate. But a 69 dollar delivery and 10 buck haul away.

To bad you could not get someone to do free in store pickup And just dismantle the old one by yourself.

Have fun shopping.

I can't comment on the free delivery thing, but in general, if you ask a sale associate to price match and show a printout or flyer, you should be fine. If it's a lot of $, ask for a manager.

Lowes doesn't show the washer online, so I assume it's not in their "normal" catalog.

However, Home Depot carries the LG washer for $899 online (already 10% discounted for memorial day). HD also has the fridge that I'm interested in - Lowes has the same fridge as well, but a bit cheaper.

I'm hoping if I get both at the same location, they can give me some additional discount (anyone gotten this before?). I'll also need free delivery and haul away since I live in a walk up.

Secaucus is the biggest and best stocked Home Depot in my experience.

If you have a car take a ride to Home Depot in North Bergen. The selection is a bit larger.

A very good Lowes is next door to Home Depot. The in store sales seem to be larger and it may be because of the competition between the two stores.

Like I said, they did for me.

Not exactly. They carried it on their website, but not in the store is what I think you meant to say. There's no way that a corporation like Lowes with its own warehousing and shipping system would go outside that chain of buyers to order your item on a one-of basis. What you're describing is that it was in their inventory as a company, but not in the store. They then went into their supply chain and got one to come to the store.

One thing you can do to possibly make your life easier is to check homedepot.com and set a store to pick up from. A home store, if you will. You can see if they're in stock on an item that way, and if they're out of it, change the store to the other location. Calling isn't a terrible idea, either, since stated inventory and actual physical inventory that anyone can find and hasn't walked out of the store is often different.

I assume Lowes has this option as well, but I haven't actually checked.

Looking at fllyer Lowes has free next day delivery and haul away on in stock items.

Do what others said get on 440 go to all three stores. I hate PC Richards, don't like sales people bugging me.

How about Sears?

A few oldtmers swear by a store called triangle appliance in Bayonne.

Lowes' website doesn't show this 24" washer: lg wm1355hw.

Also, while I was looking at the fridge, I thought Lowes' website doesn't show that they "delivery free and haul away for free", which is also what I need. That's why I was leaning towards Home Depot, which offers free delivery and hauling (and being in a walk-up, I'll need that!).

(I'm the OP) The reason I mentioned Home Depot was because I checked their inventory online, and the washer that I wanted (24" size only) is only shown on Home Depot's website (not Lowes), so I assume Lowes don't carry it.

Do anyone know if Lowes will order something for me even if they don't normally carry it in their inventory?

Good idea about 440 where I can hit all of them (Lowes, HD, PC Richard)!

I say 440 if you have a house, the one dtjc seems to cater to apt living and everything seems downsized. Also if you hit 440 you can stop by Lowes and PC Richards which you can compare pricing.

By far Route 440

My impression is that they're about the same, but remember that what's in stock at any of these stores is a fraction of what's out there. For my own kitchen, I didn't depend on their stock, but shopped online for what I wanted, then ordered it from the big box, in that case Lowes. The range I decided on, a relatively inexpensive but very attractive GE "slide in", was not stocked anywhere. range

I don't know if they're still available, but I bought 20% off coupons for a pittance on Ebay that actually worked! I saved like $700 on my appliances.

The one on 440 is like most of the others I have been in. Have not been to the DT one.

If you are on 440 go to Lowes they have a much bigger display area than any HD. Rows and rows of stuff. I get all my appliances there no problems.

Good luck
