Prime Food Market on the corner of 10th & Manila has a lot of Indian ingredients available, with both bulk and fresh options as well. I've gotten paneer there and it was excellent!

Madame Claude Wine sells excellent Manchego cheese.

I've gotten queso blanco at Shoprite. Not the best, but it works.

You can get Manchego downtown at a number of places, including the wine shop (Liberty Wine and Spirits) on the corner of Washington and Morris in Paulus Hook and

And while you're there, if you're lucky they'll have their fresh bread in the basket in front. It looks quite like a baguette, but I believe is made using pizza dough. It's heavenly.

Which one is it? Manchego is a hard, white cheese, from Spain. It hails from the region of La Mancha. Excellent cheese to eat by itself, or with some crackers, and wine (especially a Spanish wine from La Mancha). Queso Blanco is a soft, white cheese. Very common in many Latin/Hispanic dishes. You can get queso blanco in many of the local bodegas or small markets that sell Hispanic products. Queso blanco melts easily and can be paired with both salty and sweet food items. In fact, it is common in Caribbean dishes to see queso blanco, or similar cheeses, paired with guava paste, or other such fruit-related items. Mexican cuisine has a similar cheese, but it is different in texture/taste.

Does anybody know of a spot in Downtown that sells manchego or queso blanco? La Conga Supermarket perhaps?

Anyone ever find pasteurized eggs? Yes, they make pasteurized eggs (by cleaning the shells).

Anyone know of a local market that carries Pastry Flour?
I'm not able to find it as easily as I thought.

It doesn't really keep. It's only homemade when you make it at home. Have you tried? Super easy with the right tools.

Does anybody know of a place in JC or Hoboken that sells homemade fresh pasta? I know there are a bunch of places in lower Bergen County, and I know of a few places in Brooklyn, but are there any closer to home? Any places in the Heights?

Does anyone know if there is anywhere you can get sushi-grade fish in JC? The closest place I know is Mitsuwa in Edgewater, I know its not that far but I hate that drive..

does anyone know where i can get some good pancetta or guanciale in or around JC? and not that gross domestic stuff that they sell at A&P. i'd usually go into nyc to get it, but i only need a little bit for something i'm making and i don't feel like making that trip. it's the sort of thing any good italian specialty food store should sell. i cannot wait for buon italia to open!

Both of the markets on Newark Ave (P&K Fruit and don't know the name of the other one) between Grove and Jersey carry most or all of the Bob's Red Mill line.

Several stores near me have the Bob's Red Mill line - you might try the Liberty Towers Gourmet and the new grocery store at 77 Hudson. The new store has a bigger selection so may have what you're looking for. Otherwise, try Subia's.

I'm loking for gluten free flours (specifically sorghum, tapioca, and brown rice flours) and xanthum gum for some holiday baking.

Anyone have any downtown JC suggestions?
