Spoke to the owner last night ... he is hoping to open within 6 weeks. Separate entrance (Morgan Street) for wine bar. Speakeasy bar in basement with room for live bands. Pizza window open until 4am. Espresso bar where current Dunkin Donuts is.

The bistro, wine bar, whiskey bar, pizza and speak easy lounge sign is gone, but the site looks like it will be getting a new exterior soon:

Wait - are we honestly evaluating the future quality of this place based on the tile? Really?

I would be interested in additional analysis on the flooring, lighting, and bathroom fixtures.

Actually, I saw white subway tiles, which are a simple looking tile, but kind of a classic look IMO.

The floor is gray hexagonal stone (not ceramic) tiles. I was watching a guy giving what I think was a bronze wash to tin ceiling tiles, some of which have since been put up. When I googled "cheap tile" the closest thing to what I see on the walls costs $25.99 a square foot (in green). Is that cheap? Dunno.

I hope they actually make prohibition style cocktails... good drinks are an item missing from the JC scene.

From what I heard they're taking over the current Dunkin Donuts Space. Maybe that will be for the pizza? I heard it's going to be cheap slices, so I don't have high expectations for the quality.

They're also using the basement space in the building. I'm not sure where the entrance will be, but I'm guessing that's the speakeasy.

They're going to have outdoor seating, so that'll be nice when weather warms up.

It's probably just one thing, like Powerhouse Lounge.

I have also spent (way too much) time trying to figure this out. My guess is that the bistro, wine bar, and whiskey bar are one space; the speakeasy is a little separate spot, either a different room or just more intimate area of the wine/whiskey bar; the pizza place is totally separtae, in the back with the entrance that's not on the plaza (not sure the street). Maybe?

Haha, I think your confusion is everyone's confusion. My fear is that this bizarre compilation of venues can only end in a Disney Land-esque type of venue. Which I guess is still better than a vacant place.

This sign has been up for a while:

http://www.seeninjerseycity.com/2012/ ... bar-lounge-coming-to.html

Advertising a "bistro, wine bar, whiskey bar, pizza and speak easy lounge coming soon."

Does anyone have any info on how all these elements are going to be arranged in the space? Will there be separate rooms for each or what? It strikes me that a wine bar, bisto, and pizzeria are very different themes and I'm wondering how they will all coexist.

Either way that space has been vacant for years so I'm glad to see something going in.
