I have mentioned many times on this forum that rent control was not based on tax increase but Consumer Price Index. So, while the small homeowners see their taxes go up, if you are a tenant, you don't. It is similar to Social Security.
I am attaching the chart from Jersey City which lists the increase by months and years. Now that inflation is high, the Consumer Price Index is up but that has nothing to do with taxes being passed on to tenants.
