So how much more will our property taxes be going up to pay for this, in addition to the special property tax to pay for the arts? No doubt there will be funds diverted from the regular schools to pay for this place, and we as taxpayers have to make up the difference. I just love it.

No, the school taxes are separate from the municipal taxes. we presently pay bonds on school buildings that is added on the municipal portion and not the school portion. So this will be an additional tax on the municipal portion of government.

Fulop also announced a new microgrid initiative that will run on 100% greenhouse gas free power. I doubt those unicorns farting rainbows are going to come cheap.

This is a scam for two reasons, first during the original council meeting where the land was transferred to the scity, the city said the 16 acres were worthless. Yet Fulop in 2015 released a press letter stating the city sold a small parcel of land for $24 million that Healy negotiated for $10 million. JC used an assessment from a piece of property on Union St as to the value of that property not the closer parcel on Jersey Avenue. Secondly, group receiving the 16 acres said they would do fundraising and they only need the land. So the public was lied twice. First on the land value and second on giving scity $2 million for 30 years.

A controversial resolution to approve the administration’s plan for a STEM high school next to Liberty Science Center was approved last night over the vociferous objections of the overwhelming majority of public speakers.
