I had both of my kids at Englewood hospital. My first daughter was small and wasn't eating., so they extended our discharge until 6:00 until she ate and had a wet diaper. Since I was there waiting, they kept me in the room and took care of me and fed me. The room had a pull out sofa for my husband who stayed 2 days. They didn't even charge us for the 7 hours they took care of my baby and me. Care was excellent.
My obgyns are comprehensive women's care in Englewood. Drs. Friedman, schlossberg, patrusky, and some new partners. They're all from top schools and are affiliated with My. Sinai.

Level IV is the highest, I think.

My younger son is alive because we were at NY - Cornell (or whatever it's called these days). Routine pregnancy -- no warning signs.

For any new mom, this is really key and cannot be repeated enough. You would like to think that having a baby locally and strolling home would be super nice, but you have to plan for you and your baby being in a center of excellence that can offer life-saving care if needed. I'm here today (and so is my son) because I chose Hackensack. We weren't anticipating any problems and I was enjoying a pretty uneventful second pregnancy. But when things suddenly went down hill really fast, I was glad that I was in a hospital with a stellar NICU.

Had my kids at St. Barnabas in Livingston, NJ. Great experience. Got our own room. The whole 9 yards. My kids had to stay a bit in the NICU. St. Barnabas is known for having one of the best, if not the best, NICUs around. The entire experience was fantastic.

Hi all,

I'm new to downtown JC and trying to find an OBGYN / hospital for delivery for late next year. I feel nervous about all the options, and am wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences they can share about;

--JCMC - I've read both good and horrible reviews
--Other NJ hospitals close to downtown JC (Hackensack, Hoboken, etc.?)
--Living in JC but delivering in NYC
--Recommendations for a solid OBGYN doctor without horrible wait times

Thank you so much, I really don't know where to go!!
