I have been following the costs of handling municipal waste (related to a project at work). Given that much of Asia has or is banning imports of scrap plastic and paper, a number of municipalities are having their budgets blown out due to skyrocketing disposal costs. In many cases, items that made money (i.e. paper) now cost $100+ per ton to dispose of.

I have read nothing about Jersey City in this regards though. Does anyone here know if JC is facing similar budget issues?
