In part, I can vouch for this - I was sitting at the table right next to Fulop at lunch at the Brownstone on the day of the snowstorm. He was with 3 priests and there for awhile - clearly not in any sense of urgency because of an impending storm. Admittedly, at the time, it hadn't started snowing yet - it probably began flurrying 20 minutes or so later.

Mayors' texts, emails show little communication during chaotic snowstormJersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, whose eyes are usually glued to his phone when he’s not speaking to someone in person, sent not one work email or text during the Nov. 15 snowstorm that created citywide gridlock. Same for Jimmy Davis, the mayor of Bayonne, where the storm led to a complete closure of the Bayonne Bridge for more than five hours. North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco, whose township includes steep hills that are treacherous for drivers during the mildest of storms, also sent no emails or texts. Ditto for Union City Mayor Brian Stack. https://www.nj.com/hudson/2019/01/mayo ... ng-chaotic-snowstorm.html

Intersection of Newark and Jersey along Jersey to Montgomery, always backed up at night! The light for Columbus and Jersey is way too long after 7 PM. Use Coles going southbound.

Or: The storm hit much harder than predicted -- it was the worst one-day November snowfall in well over 100 years. As a result, no one was prepared. Not municipalities, not commuters, not transit agencies. Once you had a bunch of vehicles stuck on the roads, the plows and salt spreaders had no way to get through, and couldn't clear anything. The only way this could have been avoided is if the politicians blatantly ignored the forecast, and committed to expending resources to treat a light dusting like a minor blizzard. At the time that decision had to be made, it would have seemed like an unjustifiable extravagance, and a wasteful one as well. No one was going to do that. No one did do that. If they had, and it was a light dusting, they would have been raked over the coals for wasting money.

You're right SOS, I should have taken the cue from Murphy and blamed everyone else. If Murphy wasn't Irish he would have blamed God.

I think more need to question why they're driving in a snowstorm. I was supposed to run an errand yesterday afternoon, but I said screw it, it's not an emergency. Too many people think "yes, this is why I have my sexy SUV, so I can go out in any weather!" But those little cute ute's don't have the weight or handling for it, and their drivers don't have the skills.

I apologize, clearly not my intention to start a political discussion when I started this thread.
Back to the topic, I was thinking may we should have list of JC streets to avoid as soon as it starts snowing: Here is what I can think of : Newark Ave -> heading west Montgomery Street -> heading west between Cornelius and Summit Secaucus Road -> heading east between Tonnelle and JFK Manhattan -> Heading west between Tonnelle and JFK Any more to add?

Snowstorm brought to you by Mother Nature.
Ensuing chaos and cluster-eff brought to you by Murphy, Fulop and the rest of the social, liberal Dems!! Go NJ Voters!! BTW - Murphy obviously didn't learn from the March snowstorms - oh well.

finally got home .3 hours and 4 minutes to drive 6.5 miles from Secaucus to JC. Don't go up Newark ave if you can help it. People are stuck at the bottom of the hill and some are taking desperate measure's like driving on the sidewalk. Actually don't drive if you don't have too.
Coworker just sent a photo from work . Route 3 is still backed up
