Sharnita C. Johnson
As Arts Program Director at the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, Sharnita Johnson has been dedicated to and invested in Nimbus’ success and the flourishing of arts in the Garden State. Sharnita's unwavering support, and that of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, has been integral to Nimbus' sustainability and growth over the years. As friend, trusted confidante, connector, and loyal audience member, Sharnita has helped lift up our organization and seen it thrive. In Sharnita Johnson, we have a trusted partner and ally in the path we share with her: the calling to build a better world through the arts, one that is more inclusive, more unified, and more fully-expressed.

At the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, Sharnita directs a $3 million statewide portfolio that fosters a diverse and vibrant arts ecosystem, creates broad-based public support of the arts, and supports communities engaged in creative placemaking in New Jersey. As a seasoned nonprofit professional, Sharnita is dedicated to building better communities through arts and culture, education, and youth development. Before joining the Dodge Foundation in 2015, Johnson worked as a program officer and senior program officer for the Ruth Mott Foundation, Skillman Foundation, and W. K. Kellogg Foundation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in from Marygrove College in Detroit and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Joanne Robinson Hill
Joanne Robinson Hill has been an inspirational guide for Nimbus Dance Works, performing artists, and arts students nationwide. As a beacon and benevolent leader in the arts, Joanne is known for her knowledge and wisdom, as well as her honesty and pragmatism. In her volunteer service to Nimbus as both curator of choreography for our OFFLINE performance series and as mentor to our teen pre-professional students, Joanne has taken her impressive and worldly pedigree directly into this community where she lives. She inspires youth and staff alike with her knowledge, compassion, and commitment to the arts and arts education.

In her extensive and highly accomplished career as an educator, administrator, and former dancer, Joanne Robinson Hill is the former director of education at The Joyce Theater. She is an honoree and founding member of the Lincoln Center Institute for Arts in Education and was a Leonard Bernstein Center for Education through the Arts Fellow. She is an advisor to the Davalois Fearon Dance Company, serves on the editorial board of the Teaching Artist Journal, and recently consulted with the Joyce Theater on accessibility. Joanne was a 2017 Dance/USA Engaging Dance Audiences panelist, a Joyce residency artist panelist, and a HARLEM STAGE choreographic mentor. Joanne is also a past trustee of Dance/USA and a former board member of the NYC Arts in Education Roundtable. She has been a consultant for the NYC Department of Education, served on the Council on the Arts panels for both NY and NJ, and has been recognized for her leadership by the NY State Department of Education. Outside of this region, Joanne previously worked in the arts in the Portland, Oregon area. She was also dance curriculum developer for the National Institute of Education's CEMREL Aesthetic Education Program and is a past co-chair and chair of Dance/USA's Educators Council. She danced with Raymond Sawyer, Rod Rodgers, and Erin Martin dance companies, collaborated with jazz composer Julius Hemphill, and last performed in Tina Croll and James Cunningham’s From The Horse’s Mouth.
