(the JJ piece has rain totals?.wow Bayonne close to 5 inches) Why the rain and flooding were so bad in Hudson County on Tuesday Updated 4:55 PM; Posted 4:28 PM By Patrick Villanova The Jersey Journal It was a wet and wild Tuesday in Hudson County. The state's most densely-populated county was soaked with heavy rains that left cars trapped on flooded roadways, basements under water, and commuters with a hellish ride home. So how much rain fell on Tuesday? That depends on which part of the county you're looking at. https://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... o.html#incart_2box_hudson

Liberty makes the best pumps. I would never use one of the box store pumps.

My first Flo-tec went nearly a decade. I have another one in another building that has been in service since 1998. The newer models are made out of plastic vs. the iron pumps. It is these new ones that have been failing.

Flo Tec (from Home Depot). I have had problems with the float switch jamming and repeated motor failures. The motors get ground faults, tripping the GFI. I just ordered a different brand off of Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000 ... age_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Hopefully it holds up better.

Amazingly, Marin by the train tracks only flooded with a few inches for a brief time. I didn't see anything else and my sump pit is totally dry. Downtown dodged this one.

Rt 440 by Kellogg in front of the La Mexicana (former Colonette) is flooded. All lanes closed. I will back track on what I posted to Yvonne on the 4/16/2018 flood thread. Still not covering cars and not a threat to Bayfront project but very high.
