Maybe a slab with french drains around?
Subscribed, for similar reasons. Not our basement thankfully, but a garage/shed building we have has a similar issue with a slab in place, it does have room for drainage but the link to outside drains have perished, so it puddles a bit.

I bought a house with a dirt floor in the basement. Moisture seepage is doing a number on the pipes and boiler.
I don't even know what kind of contractors do this kind of work... Does anyone know whether a vapor barrier or a concrete slab is a better idea? What kind of contractors do this sort of work? Any recommendations/referrals for contractors I should contact?
