According to the Hudson Reporter, Espana was rumored as possible Ward C candidate on Fulop ticket. She was active in the 2013 campaign. http://www.hudsonreporter.com/view/fu ... stance=latest_storyQuote:

Mayors usually stay out of Women of Action awards. Each council person nominates two or three women. The press release from that year lists Espana as one of Fulop's choices.

I stand corrected, but isn't it Healy's term as mayor? Was it actually Fulop's nomination from Ward E??

LOL... I sort of figured it was some sort of typo when I read it. Just to keep this thread on a downward spiral.... do we know if she is a legally registered voter? The suspect that is... not Yvonne.

lol. I mentioned that a stalker broke into the mayor's house and my friend's first words were "was it Yvonne?"

Touchy, touchy, touchy, no one here can ask a legimate question? Yes, it is strange that an award ceremony that was created to honor females who serve the community was being corrupted in the name of politics. There are many good people who do volunteer work in Ward E and it is a shame that they were overlooked for politics.

I think Yvonne is just pissed that nobody has ever wanted to nominate her.

Yvonne, you could probably be an at least marginally useful person if you had even just the most basic research skills. Then you'd find out that it's not uncommon for council members to nominate women outside of their ward: http://jcnj-prod.serverside.net/uploa ... s/WOMEN%20OF%20ACTION.pdf

Are you trying to say the mayor is that shallow person? I am still curious what a 24 year did in order to earn this award.

Oh for crying out loud, the award was given to 27 honorees as part of Jersey City's recognition of March as Women's History Month. Exactly what she did, I don't know. I don't care. But you seem obsessed about needing to know the answer to that.

oh my god Yvonne who effing cares, not everything is a conspiracy.

I never said it was a conspiracy, I said councilpeople normally give awards to people in their wards. She would have been 24 years old at that time, so what did she do that allowed Fulop recognize her, instead someone in his own ward?

Prosecutors want to detain alleged stalker of Jersey City mayor

JERSEY CITY — The 30-year-old woman accused of stalking Mayor Steve Fulop, who once honored her as a Jersey City "woman of action," will remain behind bars until at least Thursday.

Stephanie Espana, of Jersey City, was arrested Sunday night after authorities say she was found inside Fulop's Ogden Avenue home at about 7 p.m. Espana made her first court appearance Monday afternoon, with the assistant prosecutor handling the case saying she wants to have Espana evaluated by a mental health professional.

This story gets even crazier... not to mention the suspect. It isn't easy being a public figure.

Even a home security alarm system... you would think that would have been a enhanced security recommendation after the first incident?
