Thousands in cash, jewelry stolen in 2 Jersey City burglaries: police

By Ron Zeitlinger
The Jersey Journal

A Downtown Jersey City man discovered that home was robbed of roughly $9,000 in cash and jewelry after he noticed unusual charges on his debit card, a police report said.

Police responded to the man's River Drive South home early on Feb. 8 and were told that the man noticed the unusual activity on his cards on Feb. 3. Over the course of the next four days he realized that jewelry and cash were missing, police were told.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Also this week, more than $5,000 in jewelry was stolen from an apartment in the Heights neighborhood, police said. The investigation into the incident on Manhattan Avenue between Summit and Montrose avenues is still under investigation.

The two burglaries are not considered related.

You don't need a pin, many stores don't require you to use one to make a purchase. You can also order stuff online.

how would the burglars know the pin for the debit card, unless the victim gave it to the burglars?Quote:
