Conte, Ridley face off in Jersey City council race

JERSEY CITY -- Next week's runoffs in Wards B and C feature two sitting councilmen fighting for their political lives and in Ward E hundreds of thousands of dollars are being spent in the battle for a new Downtown council person.

But there's a fourth runoff on Tuesday, one that's flying a little more under the radar than the other three. In Ward A, Joe Conte, a school district worker, and Denise Ridley, who works in sales and marketing for a pharmaceutical firm, are facing off to succeed Frank Gajewski on the nine-member council. Gajewski did not seek a second term.
