I currently live in a building that is now under the third LLC he owns, so I do not anticipate much change, although our garbage actually gets taken out now.

Mega-landlord intimidating tenants who reported horrible conditions, group says

JERSEY CITY ? Local religious leaders say a mega-landlord has installed cameras directly in front of some tenants' doors, one month after they spoke out about being treated unfairly.

The new cameras and a proposed security system that required tenants in some buildings provide photos of their driver's licenses are the newest forms of intimidation landlord Joseph Ehrman uses, Jersey City Together said during a June 18 rally.

Ehrman, described by the group as a "predatory landlord," owns multiple management companies in Jersey City, including Sixth Boro, Optimum Property Management and Golden Apple.

JERSEY CITY - A pregnant woman and three teenagers are among six people who are in critical condition after being exposed to carbon monoxide inside an apartment building on the city's West Side, authorities said.

JERSEY CITY -- Eleven people, including a city firefighter, are being treated for carbon monoxide exposure at an apartment building on the city's West Side, officials said.

Three people who were exposed to the carbon monoxide are listed in critical condition, city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said.

The incident happened at 168 Harrison Ave., a 16-family residential building between Kennedy Boulevard and Bergen Avenue, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Officials say a malfunctioning boiler may have been what caused the exposure.

The city's fire department and Office of Emergency Management are on scene with PSE&G and the building's management.
