In 2014, the city council voted a 99 year for one dollar a year for an electric charge station on 2nd Street. This deal outraged Councilman Yun, so he is trying to change the deal. At the last council caucus, Yun had the deal reduced to 20 years and he is still working on increasing the fee from one year a year. Just another give away from this administration.

Little did I know that my father (nor did he) was on the leading edge of electricity conservation when he used to run around the house yelling at my brother and sisters to turn the lights out when you leave a room.

He would yell "every light in the house is on... what do you kids think, electricity is free?" I am curious to know who pays for all these "free" charging stations?

Hello,

Last City Council meeting an EV (electric vehicle) Zone was established in Jersey City - one of the first of its kind in the USA.

First St (between Marin and Provost) has a one-of-a-kind curbside EV charging hub with 19 spots for electric vehicles and EV car sharing via General Motors (Maven).
Through some of the Ordinances that will be heard next Wednesday, over half of these spots will be re-purposed, which will allow gas-powered vehicles to park as well.

With that said, we need the YOUR support to bring more electric vehicles and EV Zones to Jersey City - this can only be done by bringing in electric vehicle charging station infrastructure.
Today more than ever it is critical that we voice our opinions to promote and encourage reduction of greenhouse gas emissions!

Next Wednesday, June 28th at 6pm City Council is have a 2nd hearing as an opportunity for the public to speak up. If we come together to use our presence, voices & connections to let the city know the support for EVs in JC, we can be part of a movement that catapults the implementation of MORE EV stations, EV car sharing and EV ownership throughout JC.

Change is about the NOW. Here's how you can help:
1. SHARE this message with your friends and family. Start the conversation and educate them of our initiatives.
2. SHARE on social media & use #EVinJC
3. Participate and SHARE our Facebook Event to spread the word and see the movement in action
4. SIGN UP (join movement) to continue getting updates
5. SHOW UP @ City Hall, June 28th at 6pm -- Your presence is powerful (plus, we'll have free t-shirts!)
6. SPEAK UP @ City Hall, June 28th at 6pm -- Your VOICE is even more powerful. There will be opportunity to speak for up to 5 min to influence City officials about the support, demand, and/or need for #EVinJC
