No personal experience with a claim of that nature, but I know the Ins. Co. is gonna put up a fight and I don't blame you for letting someone else do the negotiating. Here's one thought:

Does anyone on this message forum have a recommendation for a trusted private company/appraiser that handles a vehicle diminished value claim? I prefer to outsource this and would rather not do the negotiation with the insurance company myself.

Here?s the backstory: I was rear-ended in my relatively new (2016 subaru forester 12,100 miles) in Morristown NJ last week. The other driver is accepting liability and the estimate of my vehicle?s damages is $6,500 but that repair cost is likely to increase. The work is being completed in the next 10 days.

TIA. It would also be helpful to know which companies/appraisers I should steer away from.
