How did he lie? He testified he had no contact with any Rooskies outside his job as Senator on Senate business. Both of the meetings he did have with the Russian Ambassador were open and above board. Coincidentally, a rabidly liberal friend posted this link on fb earlier today, which is also a neutral (and, perhaps favorable) review of Donald Trump's dinner outing last night. It is interesting the contrast between how the news portray DJT and the picture presented (of limited appeal, and generally negative impressions by the populace) to how he is actually seen by so many around the country. One is definitely left to wonder why there is such a disconnect between what the media is portraying and the reality of so many others. Surely we can all agree that was in evidence during the election, when no one gave him a chance of victory, and yet he crushed it in the Electoral College.

Here, the underlying logic behind the transgender lockerroom issue is that these people are truly the identity they believe. And it is their civil right to use the bathroom and lockerroom associated with their true identity.

So using this logic, Monroe's statement is perfectly kosher. You're fine not to agree, but keep in mind what you are defending.
