Haphazard situations occur all the time in that section of the city. Distractions from cell phones, jaywalkers, darting into traffic, and walking in the street as opposed to using the sidewalk just to name more than a few.

The driver of a box truck told police he didn't see the pedestrian before hitting him at the corner of Newark and Tonnelle in Little India.
Pedestrian left in critical condition
