ABOUT AAYA Perez
Aaya Perez is an intersectional, gender-queer polymath born and raised in NYC- currently living in Jersey City. They have performed at The Apollo Theatre, The Metropolitan Museum Of Art, Lincoln Center, and The Washington Monument. Aaya is a member of the 2016 Urban Word slam team, placed third in the the New York Youth Poet Laureate Slam and is currently a member of the Quantum Things poetry collective. Aaya has had their work featured in Buzzfeed and Rookie Magazine. They use poetry, music, and visual art to shed light on the personal side of politics, and the struggles of being an oppressed artist in American society.
