The Pendulum swings... But it will be ok.

When the "Community Organizer" took office, everyone in Texas threatened to secede. He had zero experience and only won because of "the show".

We thought the world would end. It didn't.

A clear demonstration that the American people have risen up against "progressives," the bullshit they spew in our media, and political correctness. If he wins, it will be one of the greatest days in American history. Certainly the most rapid and unexpected political rise in American history.

Please.

The Republican political class is just as elite as the Democratic political class. That's one reason why so much of it fought Trump right down to the wire. Even today, they are hoping that he will be a sane human being, despite abundant evidence that will not be the case.

The Republican elite has spent decades catering to their wealthy donors and corporations, often at the expense of those who voted for Trump.

And while this was a notable electoral college victory, the popular vote was very close, with Clinton actually winning. A few thousand votes in a few swing states would have produced a Clinton presidency. This is not a resounding mandate for Trump's policies (whatever they are).

Trump rode a wave of anti-government, anti-minority, nativist populism that he barely understands, against a skilled but flawed candidate. The result is that we've elected a mendacious authoritarian to the Presidency, who is highly likely to terminate health insurance for millions (while premiums and drug costs continue to skyrocket), sent deficits into the stratosphere, hire cronies to inefficiently run federal agencies, drive the economy and the US's reputation into a ditch, and destroy the Republican Party while he's at it.

Meanwhile, the evangelicals who held their nose in the hope he will outlaw abortion will be deeply disappointed, as even the most conservative SCOTUS won't overturn Roe / Hellerstedt any time soon.

Is that what his voters want? How fascinating.

Oh please yourself. You didn't post anything of substance, just more fear mongering and hysteria, combined with a hearty dose of sour grapes.

And if you were paying attention you'd see I referred to the entity of a political party, not their leaders. Meaning the DNC and the RNC. While it's certainly true that the Republican leadership is just as "elite" as the Democrats, the RNC decided not to interfere with the will of their voters. The DNC demonstrably did, as proven by Wikileaks, and it very well may have cost them a monumentally important election.

Love it how Hillary predicted that the glass ceiling will be shattered "sooner than we think".

Yes, by Ivanka Trump in 8 years!

Does this benefit anyone? This is what our liberal media has devolved into.

Shame.

Last night, while watching the NBC News coverage, at some point Todd Chuck essentially copped to this (mainstream media has failed to understand and properly gauge resentment/anger of a large part of the population) and started to talk about how they needed to do better, only to be followed on the air by a few nincompoops doing the same fear-mongering all over again. First it was the "markets expert" proclaiming impending doom once the Dow and NASDAQ would open at 8 AM, and then it was some other guy spewing conspiracy theories about Russia having a lot of dirt on Trump that they will use soon. It got so crazy that even Lester Holt stepped in and told him he was speculating.

The media, and many here in JCLIST, derided Trump supporters as hicks, racists, uneducated, misogynists, etc, etc, etc. It seems like that has backfired by galvanizing those voters. Turnout for this election was record setting, increasing by about 5%, and I think those people (right or wrong) decided to show their displeasure by voting for Trump, or against Clinton.

People are fed up with Washington, and Washington could care less-Hillary carried DC with an astounding 93% of the vote! They love the status quo and don't want someone to make some changes.

Good article. Thanks for sharing it.

I was neither a Clinton supporter, nor a Trump supporter, but I was really, really turned off by the smug attitude by those in the left who simply assumed a Clinton presidency was a definite given, and acted with increased smugness. It's a day of reckoning for the liberal elite: there is an entire section of the country that looks at them with resentment, anger and total distrust. The article elucidates some of these points.

Yes Comrade. And since Trump elected you know what that means...

Your friends in Russian Federation congratulate the new president!

State sponsored email ahacks contributed to defeat of Clinton? Well it didn't hurt! But maybe Clinton lost the day she was nominated by democrat liberal progressives?

Enjoy your victory!!! Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, etc aren't as thrilled as you guys.

Your criminal lost. You can drop the cringeworthy Red-baiting now.

Will you admit that state sponsored hacking likely changed the outcome of the election?

Do you remember when I replied to you by saying that Sunshine is the best disinfectant? I can search for the post if you want, but you never replied.

In any event, the Russians didn't cause CNN to illegally leak the debate questions to Hillary. They didn't cause the mass media to be nothing more than a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. They didn't cause Hillary to make more than $200 million in bribes in exchange for favors shed grant these shady donors after elected.

They simply exposed the Truth.

Just like with Brexit?

Look at a 1-year chart of USD-GBP. The British pound has dropped > 20%. Given the average household net worth in the UK was around $400k, the Brexit vote cost $80k per household. The only reason the FTSE-100 has increased is because it's dominated by multi-nationals, and prices in those stocks have tracked USD not GBP. The average UK investor doesn't have all their assets in the FTSE-100. The Brexit vote was an extremely dumb one financially.

Having said that - a Trump win mightn't be that bad.

https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s ... #symbol=USDGBP=X;range=1y

Why don't you guys give it 24 hours to relax before you start trying to drag down the next presidency?

We all know the economic numbers being released over the last 8 years have been fabricated, stretched, omissions of key facts or outright lies. The voters said, don't piss on my leg and tell me that it is raining.

We know that The Fed kept interest rates artificially low so as not to interrupt the miraculous recovery underway.

Based on Nancy Pelosi's recommendation, the democrats 100% passed Obamacare to see what's in it.
Thus we know you can't keep your doctor and the law's effect on the economy starting with covering losses for insurance companies to companies ensuring minimum wage earners worked no more that 36 hours so companies would not have to carry comply with the silly law.
Consequently, 6 years later, the entire law still has not been fully implemented (per Obama executive orders) because it would crash the fragile economy.

We also know that spiteful democrats will do their best to put the economy into a tailspin before they leave office.

And we also know that the democrats have a public face and a private face.... that were both soundly slapped into reality by the voters last yesterday.

This was a surprising result to say the least. I congratulate Trump because he pulled it off. An angry mass of people have spoken in large enough numbers...where they were heard. Basic democracy.

Whether or not choosing a candidate out of spite will solve our issues...only time will tell.

But If the Democrats roll over like the spinless Republican Party did with Adolf Trump.....both organizations deserve to perish.

Hillary was a heavy favorite so I won't get too excited until he hits 270. But Trump is looking good so far.

A clear demonstration that the American people have risen up against "progressives," the bullshit they spew in our media, and political correctness. If he wins, it will be one of the greatest days in American history. Certainly the most rapid and unexpected political rise in American history.
