Not only the wallet was found and returned by the wonderful guy that found it this morning, all the contents including the cash were all accounted for. John, our hero of the day, also refused to take any money for his good deed.

So thank you John for being just an awesome fella and we will try to pay it forward. Now the happy family can hop on the plane thanks to you!

Come on, we all know what he probably looked like.

Wow. Just wow.

Get real, many people walking by a dropped wallet would pick it up. Some would return it and some would not, but picking up a wallet laying on the street is hardly indicative of ANYTHING. I'd pick it up because then I'd know it was returned properly - so if you saw me picking it up, unaware of my intentions, how would you like to profile me?

OP -- I asked what does he look like -- to try and force peer pressure -- at least please describe his hat and clothing and age... he likely is around Hamilton Park often and is known by locals.

If you want any hope of getting this wallet back -- you need to find that guy. By the way, how did you ever see the hatted guy -- but still not get the wallet back right then and there???

Unfortunately, since it wasn't a violent crime and more of a finder's keepers, it is a little murkier to picture who took the wallet.

And there's a 0% chance he reads this and returns the wallet. I hope that person took off work today and used the day to get new copies of all her IDs.

No, please, do tell us - what did he look like? And better still, what do you look at when you look in the mirror each day?

Someone who understands statistics, and does not allow my hysterical emotions to cloud my sense of reality.

Simply look to the crime statistics and it will reveal what the most likely perpetuator looks like. If these statistics upset you, perhaps certain demographics should stop committing these crimes so they aren't grossly over represented in the crime statistics.

Are you this outspoken in public or just behind your computer and when you have your sheet over your head?

Do you seriously think saying "we all know what he probably looked like" counts as being outspoken in public?

If so, yes, I say these kinds of things all the time. And I'm right.

A friend of mine lost her wallet this morning at Hamilton Park. She urgently needs to fly and needs it back desperately. A neighbor saw a man wearing a hat pick it up and walk towards the 9th St. If you are that guy, please drop off the wallet at Hamilton Park Montessori by the park. No question asked, even without money. She just really needs her IDS back... thank you.
