Sunday 3 pm: cars are flying across the TP Bridge West they must have finished the emergency construction early.

7:45 pm: Took a drive to Bayonne looked up at the TP Bridge West nothing but red tail lights just sitting there.

This is why when driving *anywhere* you should first check Waze. Absolutely indispensable, particularly in this area, where construction seems to be happening everywhere you look, and traffic conditions change rapidly.

BTW, anyone heading to EWR would be well served to do the smart route that will save you time, headaches and money: go over the Pulaski and stay on the 1/9 (Express Lanes) all the way to the airport. From DTJC to EWR, the trip is a consistent 20 minute drive.

FYI: Because of the construction on the TP Bridge going West towards Newark? rt 440 going towards Communipaw is backed up to Danforth with drivers trying to get to the TP from rt 1&9. (I was trapped in Home Depot) The TP Bridge is stand still going West.

Upcoming NJTA Work: 10/14/16

For the weekend of 10/14/2016:

Newark Bay Bridge (Interchange 14-14C):

Eastbound: No closures scheduled.

Westbound: Westbound Interchange 14A ? 14: Traffic will be reduced to one lane from 10P Friday to 5A Monday. This closing is necessary to address high priority and emergent bridge deck repairs in the westbound travel lanes. This work has been coordinated with westbound Pulaski and the Bayonne Bridge, both of which will remain open during peak periods Saturday and Sunday. This closing is necessary to address high priority and emergent bridge deck repairs in the westbound travel lanes.
