A 31-year-old Jersey City man has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly pointing a handgun-shaped cigarette lighter at a man and threatening to kill him.

Adel Y. Shehata, of Mercer Street, is also charged with making terroristic threats and a weapons offense related to the lighter authorities say he brandished during the incident on Thursday, the criminal complaint states.

He allegedly put the victim in "imminent fear of death" and caused the victim to believe the threat would be carried out, according to the criminal complaint
