"At a City Hall ceremony commemorating Juneteenth last year, Coleman told the audience gathered for the ceremony that she has trouble paying her utilities bill."

What the heck kind of utilities does she have that she cannot pay them on the $100K a year she's already pulling in (council salary+current job)? Insane...

Would this not be the second county job, if she won, she would have?

If she could not pay her bills after elected, why did she run in the first place? It's not like the part time job of council person's salary was a hidden fact.

Or did she just run so she could get these county jobs? The register job salary is over $100,000. That plus the salary of her other county job will now surely have her pay her bills.

This for a person who can not even represent her constituents.

We in Ward F downtown, have been without representation since she was elected.

The use of the word Failure would be a kind word to attach to Ms. Coleman.

I can't say I'm surprised, but I will say than in my 30 years here in JC she has GOT to be the least-effective, most useless council person ever in Ward F. She only gets involved (or shows up) when she can get a photo-op with the mayor.

JERSEY CITY — Ward F Councilman Diane Coleman announced today she plans to run for the position of Hudson County register in November, an election she is likely to win with backing from the local Democratic Party.

Coleman, 68, would replace Pamela Gardner, who was first elected county register in 2011. The councilwoman, elected to the council in November 2012, made the announcement this morning. It's not clear if Gardner intends to seek re-election.
