Spine-less phony Gov-elect can't address the issues face to face - needs to hide behind a computer. Great commentary on the lives that were lost.

unfortunately it's going to be hard when a vocal minority with the propensity to commit crimes has been able to gain a consensus from the majority ... we need a better 'catch phrase' to counter theirs;

We need to start running ads like thisnot just for drug dealing but for any crime, followed by a hefty reward.

Time to break the no snitch culture once and for all as it's in the public interest.
It is going to be harder to break then you think. The problem is the police can not protect witnesses and this isn't only a JC problem but a national one. No one wants to make a statement to police then have to go back to the same neighborhood with all the gang members knowing you snitched. Murder trials can take years to even begin and since someone accused of a crime has to have a fair trial they know exactly who is going to testify against them. Word spreads fast on the street who witnesses are.

It's a pity the FBI doesn't open up a Jersey City satellite office and start recruiting nonviolent informants.

Of course. And not just here, you see this in black communities across the country. Every time there are shootings, witnesses refuse to come forward and provide any information to the police.

What do they expect will happen? The police can't see everything 24/7, how are they supposed to find the killers when no witnesses will speak to them? Or, as is more common, they'll pretend they didn't see anything.

Jersey City public safety director: Community must work with cops to quell violence

By Michaelangelo Conte | The Jersey Journal
on November 24, 2015 at 12:12 PM, updated November 24, 2015 at 12:13 PM

JERSEY CITY -- Up to 40 people are responsible for the recent eruption of gun violence in New Jersey's second largest city and they remain free in part because residents in the South and West districts do not provide information to police, the city's public safety director told The Jersey Journal.
