I took my wife to Razza for our first date, and then again when I proposed almost a year later. It's laid back, has great food, and is a little different than a regular Italian restaurant, and much better than Porta.

Interesting list but I wouldn't choose any of the JC choices for my first date. I would prefer Madame Claude, Laico's, and Liberty Diner for a more casual date (best breakfast date).

Yeah if your still dating at 65 !

This article was about restaurants and bars, not anything else. If you want to bring your date to some place loud where your date wont even hear the uninteresting things you are saying. Then by all means bring them to barcade. Have fun Felicia!

Why do dinner? You're locked in for a set amount of time, and then when it comes to the bill, you're out about $100. First date means the woman orders a steak or some other expensive crap.

Go DO something. Get your ass out of the seat. Grab a drink if you have to, then go walk along the water. We only live next to the coolest city in the world.

Depends on your date. But doing the Time Warp in a cemetery is lot more memorable than lobster at Chez Blah.

Not Pole Position?

Dinner at a restaurant for a first date shows a serious lack of imagination. Take a JC citibike tour, go kayaking, bbq/picnic at LSP, take a show at Loews, Rocky Horror Picture Show at Harsimus Cemetary...

Hahahaha! a cemetery date would not get a 2nd date.

Depends on how bad your date is. My wife is still a bit of a goth - she'd love it.

The Jersey City first-date scene is similar to Hoboken ? an increasing number of Jersey kids who want to work in the city but can't afford to live there. Luckily, romance can blossom on this side of the Hudson, too.
