Those are items that *could* cost money, but they would be policy enactments. They wouldn't be putting money in one pocket and then using our tax money to hand a contract over like Samson did to the tune of millions. Or it isn't letting our state smell like complete shit for decades and selling it off because of a donor. Is it not corruption when Republicans go on the radio and openly admit that the reason they are continuing with the Benghazi investigation, despite finding nothing, is because they want to hurt Hillary's poll numbers? I thought you were against government waste for unnecessary inquiries...?

Pebble, yes, abuse of power is shared by both parties. On the other hand, Democratic abuse is more likely to cost ME money.
Did you miss Hillary wanting to give illegal aliens access to Obamacare AND to Obamacare subsidies? Isn't that what Republicans said WOULD happen? 'Free' college? Are professors going to work for free? Someone has to pay, no? It's all about buying votes.

You have Republican mayor's selling weed in front of an elementary school. Do some research on Mayor Sparks. The guy was taking money under the table to give people jobs so they could collect pensions. Hmm... that sounds familiar! These stories exist all over. There is a fun one about upstate NY where Republican mayor gets in and appoints his Republican friend to Police Chief. State probe comes in because Police Chief is a running cocaine from Long Island to upstate. Take the blinders off. It's a power problem, not a political party problem...

C'mon, Pebs, look at the big cities that are scamming taxpayers-they're all run by Democrats. With the exception of Booker (so far) haven't the last, what, 5 Newark mayors all gone to jail? (Gee, and the gal who profited a couple hundred grand from the Sharpe James land sale scam is now working here-shocking!) And don't count the Port Authority, it's been a cesspool and taxpayer killer-equally guilty are both the Democrats and Republicans. The whole Charles Kushner/McGreevey connection, setting up his brother with a hooker to blackmail him-and now the various Kushner's are all over JC.

The Democrats in all of Hudson County haven't come close to the type of damage that Exxon did, however because they donated to Christie, he appointed a special prosecutor and cut a sweetheart deal. The entire state's reputation of being a smelly shithole is due to Exxon and Christie gave them a slap on the wrist. That's the definition of corruption. Samson used his position in the Port Authority to take money from lobbyists. Suddenly a parking lot rental goes from $1million per year to $1 per year after Samson's law firm gets a nice chunk of cash to be lobbyists for them. Nope, no corruption there! After a few of those types of sweetheart deals, suddenly the PA has to raise fares because it's "losing money." Did this Republican corruption not become a tax on millions? This is what happens with people in power. Living in Hudson County, you see the Dems abuse more. That doesn't mean others aren't doing the same or worse elsewhere. It also means you're more forgiving of the Republican simply because he's identified as that.

C'mon, there may not be a place in the US more corrupt than Hudson County, except maybe Chicago. Democratic corruption, I think, hits taxpayers more than Republican corruption, because it involves more recipients that need to be paid back.
Who signed off on Chico's timesheets? How come Booker isn't in jail over the Newark Watershed, that he headed? (Can I get a 200K retirement payoff, not retire, then take another 400K when I really retired?) Who authorized the McGreevey jobs scam? It being Halloween time I think the spirit of Hague is alive and well!

On the same day that Fulop and Baraka were pushing the SEIU agenda, Baraka was trying to fast track approval of a giant apartment complex owned his campaign donor supporters of the wealthy Seabra family. They'll end up getting a 30 year abatement with not a single affordable or low income unit in the building.
With the Democrats in Essex and Hudson County, it's all pay to play for influence and votes.

Of course they did. Fulop supports the government-mandated, coerced financial burden of union membership. He has supported so-called "living wage" ordinances, as well as union-only requirements for government contracts. His investments in special interests are starting to pay off.

A property-service workers union representing about 9,000 New Jersey office cleaners, security guards and others yesterday endorsed Jersey City City Councilman Steve Fulop?s bid for mayor. 32BJ, which calls itself one of the state?s fastest growing unions, said Fulop ?has fought tirelessly? for working families. ?Steven brings new ideas to ensure that Jersey City has a flourishing economy to benefit all its residents,? said Kevin Brown, the union?s New Jersey director. ?Our members are proud to support leaders who will make sure the voices of working people are heard.? The union rallied with Fulop last year in support of the so-called ?living wage? ordinance, a measure adopted by the council on July 18 that boosts minimum pay for low-level workers in city-owned and some city-leased buildings and in developments that receive city subsidies. Fulop is competing for the mayoralty with Mayor Jerramiah Healy and former basketball star Jerry Walker.
