It feels like it was two months ago. I could be off by a week or two. But, it was certainly mid May, or earlier.

Word has it that it was the usual: that meddling landlord. That spot has seen so many promising places come and go. I would have loved to see Dorian actually make it. For a while, it seemed like he would. But, after the many debacles over the past 7 years, I honestly don't expect anything to make it at that corner.

I've not tried, no have I visited the Oren's roasting facility. In fact, I've never even smelled it driving by.

As far as the restaurant/bar across the street, I think it hasn't yet received planning board approval. I missed the last Morris Canal monthly meeting where it was on the discussion list. I'm sure they'd love to tie it to the Berry Lane Park completion, as it practically backs onto it. It'd be nice to have another place to get a drink in the neighborhood since NoBar (sic) closed.

That's great! Btw, do you know if you can walk in off the street and buy coffee at Oren's?

On a related note, do you know anything about the bar opening in one of the warehouses in that stretch of Communipau?

Just announced, a new coffee shop on Communipaw Avenue, steps west of Pacific Avenue, will be The Grindshop. Other than seeing a 'coming soon' sign in the window this is fresh news. (I'm hoping since Oren's in NYC roasts their beans about a hundred yards away at the Tenmarc building they'll use theirs, but who knows).
