An apologetic robber made off with $350 cash and over $200 in cigarettes from a Jersey City Heights deli Tuesday morning, a police report said.

At 10:32 a.m., a man entered a deli at the corner of Manhattan and Liberty avenues, reports said, near Leonard Gordon Park, also known as Mosquito Park.

The man asked the store clerk, a 59-year-old Manhattan Avenue resident, for Irish Spring soap, reports said, only to pull out a silver handgun when the clerk returned.
