Paige Finnerty | The Jersey Journal

Colorful and extravagant outfits, dance-til-you-drop music and plenty of authentic cuisine will take center stage at the 20th annual Statewide Caribbean Carnival Parade Festival on July 25.

At 9 a.m. day's festivities -- hosted by the Jersey City West Indian Caribbean-American Carnival Association, Inc. -- will begin with a scholarship breakfast at Liberty House restaurant. The scholarship breakfast will be sponsored by nonprofit organization Sidewalk University.

The Caribbean carnival parade will start at noon at Jersey City's Lincoln Park and make its way to Jersey City City Hall at 280 Grove Street.

The festival, on the waterfront at Grundy Pier at Exchange Place, will begin at 3 p.m., carnival organizers said. The festival will include a children's village, main stage, market place and food court. The festival is open to the public.
