People just wander into the street around journal sq. When I moved downtown like 8 years ago people used to do the same thing, in the last few years it became less common. I forgot how bad the jaywalking can be in JC until I moved up by Lincoln Park a few months ago.

Why do people try to jaywalking on JFK when there are cars coming in both directions? It is absolutely mind blowing!

Another JC pedestrian playing a morbid game of chicken with traffic? Go to Hospital, do not pass GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200.

Remember you have this little arm of the Blvd ending & Bergen Ave beginning with Sip intersecting. It's wide, busy & a very good spot for an accident looking for its place to happen.

It's whay they call it "no-fault" insurance. I never witness these accidents I always seem to read about them after the fact. I put the blame on both until proven other wise.

How can you say you put the blame on both when a witness made a statement that the driver had the green & the pedestrian not only did not obey the signal but was not in the crosswalk. Pretty stupid thing to do especially at such a busy intersection.

Just this past week I saw a nitwit, on a bicycle, helmet on, riding up th middle of Pavonia Ave. right next to the bus I was on. He was headed east & it was about 8am in the morning. Another dope.

This sounds like what we were speaking about in another thread-the driver had the green arrow, the pedestrian ignored the signal and crossed in front of the turning car.
