Well, I guess it's good she was only packing a knife rather than a gun.

Interesting most peeps commenting on JJ are pumping their fist for the Mom.

i.e. I'm sorry but as a father of 2 boys who have been bullied to the extreme of having to transfer them to another school, I can relate to the women's rage. I don't agree with stabbing the bully but, putting myself in her shoes and seeing my son get pummeled, I feel like I would definitely want to knock the bully out!! You have to wonder; if the mother hadn't intervened when she did, would this story have a headline that read " 15 year old child died after sustaining head injuries from a play ground confrontation". I'm sure the bully learned a lesson here however, unfortunately, the victim will pay the the price!!! This kind of thing can happen to any of us who care for and love our children to the end. Unless you were in her shoes, you would not understand what went through that women's mind when she saw her son getting a beat down. So, lets not rush to judgement!!! This is a very unfortunate situation for everyone involved..

A 40-year-old Jersey City woman was arrested Monday night and charged with stabbing a teenager who was beating up her son near Bayside Park earlier in the evening, police said.

The Ocean Avenue woman, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of her son, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said.

Sharpton can't monetize black on black violence, hence little or no action from him or his ilk when these things happen.

Five people were shot today in a Philly drive by, including a 11 year old girl.

Will our national media focus attention on these events of urban terrorism we are seeing around the country, including in Greenville?

Similarly, yesterday 11 people were shot at a block party in Detroit.

The CNN article says the Detroit residents are refusing to cooperate with the police, no doubt part of the "snitches get stitches" mentality in urban culture.

The article about the Greenville drive by doesn't mention anything about cooperation. Safe to say there won't be any?

JERSEY CITY -- Two of the three people shot last night in a Bayonne park last night are in critical condition in a hospital, a hospital spokesman said this morning.

A 21-year-old man and two 15-year-olds were shot in Mercer Park in Bayonne last night at 9:15 p.m. during what some residents called an annual block party for residents of the Curries Woods public housing complex in Jersey City. The county park is on the Jersey City border.

A 15-year-old boy who was shot in the foot was treated and released from the Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health. The other 15-year-old and the 21-year-old are in critical condition, JCMC spokesman Mark Rabson said.

An official police report on the shootings has not been made available yet.

Blood could be seen this morning, splattered in the intersection of New Hope Lane and Ruby Brown Terrace outside Curries Woods.

"They think they're on Ocean Avenue or something," said Bernadette Battle, who lives in Curries Woods and was walking her dog in the park this morning. She blames the violence on conflicts among factions from various public housing complexes in Jersey City.

"It sounded like firecrackers ? 'pow, pow, pow,' " said Battle whose home at the edge of the park and was in her backyard when the shooting occurred. "Then a car hit the gas and took off. I didn't even see the car. I don't run out when I hear shooting. I've got kids."

Police said in radio transmissions that they believe a silver minivan was involved in the shooting. An official report has not yet been released.

Battle's brother lives adjacent to the park's parking lot and she said he saw the victims packing up their vehicle and getting ready to leave when the shooting occurred.

This morning work crews used several trucks to clean up debris left on the county park's lawns. Bottles could be heard smashing as full trash bags were thrown into the trucks.

A New York radio station, 1010 WINS, reported this morning that hamburgers and other food was still on the grills in the park this morning, along with other items, left behind when people ran for shelter.

"It's going to be a relentless summer," Battle said of the violence. "Nighttime, always stay in the house."

Jeez, it looks like that basketball court is all of 200 ft inside Bayonne, and the park is bordered on half it's perimeter by JC. I think you're making a big deal out of not much, considering the odds of the park patrons being from Greenville are very high.

Are all the people involved in the incident Greenville residents? Which is probably why JC cops are investigating.

This park is mainly used by JC residents so it might throw off Bayonne's stats but this incident mainly affects us.

Honey boo boo, Do you live in JC? Mercer Park is in Bayonne. It does not even share the GV zip code 07002 Most of the reporters that writes these articles live in the burgs where the OP lives and haven't got a clue.
