Thus it is clear that these faults are not the liberal's real motive for hating America and the West. He hates America and the West because they are strong and successful. Words like "self-confidence," "self-reliance," "initiative", "enterprise," "optimism," etc. play little role in the liberal and leftist vocabulary. The leftist is anti-individualistic, pro-collectivist. He wants society to solve everyone's needs for them, take care of them. He is not the sort of person who has an inner sense of confidence in his own ability to solve his own problems and satisfy his own needs. The vocal liberal is antagonistic to the concept of competition because, deep inside, he feels like a loser. Suppose you asked liberal activists to make a list of ALL the things that were wrong with society, and then suppose you instituted EVERY social change that they demanded. It is safe to say that within a couple of years the majority of these liberals would find something new to complain about, some new social "evil" to correct because, once again, they are motivated less by distress at society's ills than by the need to satisfy their drive for power by imposing their solutions on society, and to compensate for deep-seated feelings of inferiority.

Essentially, we lead the world in every way that matters (arts, science, medicine, engineering, military, governance, etc.) and continue to inspire countless others (but not you, apparently.) None of that happened because of pansies, or sheer luck. Being born American is a blessing, steeped in great, rich history, and with rights and privileges envied by most of the world. You should OWN that shit.

MDM, I'm not sure how you can compare flights in Europe, which are routinely under two hours, with cross-country flights here...

My last flight on United was so awful I have vowed never to take them again if I can avoid it. I'd be thrilled if they pulled out of the region entirely so I'd never get stuck flying on them. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Also, speaking of luxury, their first class tickets are always absurdly expensive. Compare to Delta or American which tend to be roughly twice what coach costs (say, $300 vs $580), United seems to routinely pull a 4x+ price disparity ($250 vs $1k+).

The standing seat was from Ryanair.. which is probably one of the most hated airlines in Europe, yet gets lots of business (and makes money) because the tickets are cheap.

About 5 years ago, some airlines opened conversations with the FAA and plane manufacturers about the possibility of modifying regulations and plane interior configurations to allow for standing passengers during take off and landing, as they learned via surveys and studies that many customers would be willing to fly STANDING UP if it meant they could pay less.

Last month I flew my wife to visit her family business class going out and first class coming back (a whole lot of frequent flyer miles got cashed in). There are only 6 seats on a 777-300ER in first class available. At Cathay Pacific they have 3 flight attendants for just the 6 people. The food is awesome.... and they serve caviar.
Hint: Airlines actually lose money on first class.. It's a loss leader as many of those seats go to frequent flyer mile travelers. United Airlines says it's pulling out of John F. Kennedy International Airport and that its flights from there to Los Angeles and San Francisco will depart from Newark, which for the first time will now offer amenities like flatbed seating and on-demand movies on cross-country flights. United already offers service from Newark Liberty International Airport to both LAX and SFO, but without the kind of amenities typically only available on international flights. In Tuesday's announcement of the shift, effective in October, United said it was intended to strengthen its northeast hub at Newark Liberty, where the Chicago-based carrier already accounts for 70 percent of all flights. Officials also said the move comes after seven unprofitable years of operating out of JFK.
