Actually, no worse than anybody else. Did you hold a grudge against them.

Having tried Alex pizza twice, i have a hard time imagining them making 5000 in a month, much less enough for them to make a profit. Nothing from that place so far has been anything better than mediocre, and that's being polite

How long has the original been named White Star? Was it Griggs, the owner before Matt, that named it White Star, or does it go back further?

Is the name a nod to the USA military?

I feel like there are like 4 people that own all the bars in Jersey City. And they keep naming them all the same thing. Some variety would be nice.

I'd be bummed to see La Conguita close ... although a new White Star sounds good. I just hope they don't call it White Star III or something. A new place deserves it's own name!

The 131 Erie location where Blue Lotus is now has changed hands 5-6 times in 10 years or so, due to high rent. I hope they prosper, but the math just doesn't add up for the new Alex's Italian. They'll have to gross $500-$600 a day to stay afloat.

It'll be a shame if La Conguita goes away - this is a downtown JC institution.

Wow! I didn't realize that La Conga had been sold. I don't shop there often, but had recently walked in to look around and everything looked the same as usual.

If that pizzeria is paying $5,600, I don't see how they will be able to stay in business!!

If indeed White Star opens up a third outpost at the La Conguita spot, what will they call it? White Star Downtown? It's a great spot, being a corner and all. I would definitely patronize them.

Did you mean La Conguita?

The last I heard is that they own their building so they didn't have the pressure of making a ton of money to be able to stay open.

That is right not only that building but 6 more. But, the White Star will probably make him more in rent. They sold the Conga Grocery Store , and now The Conguita. Maybe the rents are to hard to pass up and with out the responsibilities of running a business. The New pizzeria ( Old Sava) pays 5600.00 a month.
What do you think the White Star will pay for his sight ?
