I'll be there for my final purchases, rumor has it another candy company will take it over. Great spot, and I am really sad to see it go. I have rode my bike there plenty of times to get my chocolate fix.

A kind and gentle man, indeed. May he rest in peace. Truly a loss for Jersey City.

I had a similar experience, showing me behind the scenes & he let me sample a piece of chocolate "fresh out of the oven". (figure of speech)

A true son of Jersey City & artist whose death leaves a hole in our lives.

Long-time Jersey City chocolatier leaves behind legacy of sweet memories

While other businesses came and went, Fischer Confections has stood the test of time.

For 52 years Frank E. Fischer operated and owned the candy business in the same location on Martin Luther King Drive. And as the city changed bit by bit, Fischer remained a chocolatier at the same location on Martin Luther King Drive, making treats for the community for more than five decades.

It was what he loved to do, until his death on Dec. 5 at the age of 70 at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.
