That is a SAD statement...! I throughly, completely HATE Comcast. The fact that they can be considered the BEST cable company is depressing.

I don't use them myself. However, they are the best of the old coaxial line runners.

BTW this is not Fulop or Healy's fault, this is on the federal level (Obama).

You and all the other Obama bashers are pathetic. Obama is not perfect, but there's noting to do with him in this.

Cable TV franchises are a local issue. Sure there are FCC and other Federal regulations but very little has changed with them in ages. The negotiations are totally on the local level.

Obama has nothing to do with this.

I love Obama! I voted for him once, and I think he is doing a great job, but f you do some homework and get your head out of his ass you might learn something.

Let's stick to the issue, the city council could say no to this contract, but I doubt it. The city council could force a better deal out of Comcast. The issue is local not federal.

Funny you should say that. Obama is great friends with Comcast's Chief Lobbyist.

"Even Barack Obama has Comcast ties. ?I have been here so much, the only thing I haven?t done in this house is have seder dinner,? he quipped at a fundraiser hosted last year at the home of David Cohen, Comcast?s chief lobbyist."

http://www.economist.com/news/leaders ... time-warner-cable-turn-it

They also have other close ties with big time Democrats.

The city council votes on the contract, they can make changes. I am sure Healy would make those requests. Personally, the contract should be 5 years to hold Comcast accountable. Fulop have said he wants JC to be he best midsize city, well the studio on Kennedy Blvd is less than ideal for a midsize city.
