I'm pretty sure these meal services - home cooked by an "auntie" - exist in JC, I see my neighbors getting deliveries all the time. They pretty much operate by word of mouth and in all likelihood fly under the radar for obvious reasons since you're really not supposed to use your home kitchen for commercial purposes. Your best bet is ask your Indian neighbors if they know anyone, or call the service you used to use in Edison to see if they could recommend anyone up here.

For cheap eats -- it is hard to beat Shadman on Grove Street -- but I think it is still takeout only.

Is this the place where's there's this statue of a Native American outside? I've passed there many times and wondered about the food

Thank you, I like them as well, but what I had in mind is I think called "tiffin service". We are not Indian, but used to use this service in the Edison area - it is home made or catering kitchen made family food - packaged always for the whole week ahead. I found quite a few being offered in JC,
Eg.

but I am asking for recommendations or personal experience.
Thanks:)

contact Blue Lotus on Erie - the food is flavorful and portions are large. Our group of 4 dined there twice and had enough take home for another round. The food keeps well in the fridge.

Appetizers are really good : Bahari Srimp and Calamari Cochin

We've also had Chicken Tikka Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, Goat Curry, Fish Curry (Salmon) served with Naan and Basmati Rice.

There's a Groupon:

Would anyone have a recommendation for a good home made Indian food delivery service? I am looking for the weeks worth of family meals - delivered once a week to downtown Jersey City (or I can pick it up eg. in JSQ). I started working a very busy job and would love this as a healthier alternative to take out meals. Our family used to use this service when we lived in central NJ (Edison) and it was fabulous.
