President of some Democrats.

Certainly not Alison Grimes, Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate who refused to say whether she voted for Obama!
grimes ran away from obama just like most republicans running in 2008 tried to get as far away from gwb as possible. it was really sad seeing the republicans just totally diss gwb even though he was doing all that he could to save the economy after pursuing republican trickle-down theory for so long. in other words, when the SHIIIIT hit the fan in 2008, those same republicans running the country did some pretty socialistic things!

And McConnell said at a Republican retreat held at the Library of Congress prior to Obama?s inauguration in 2009 :

"There are still enough Republicans to block the Democratic agenda as long as we march in lockstep. As long as Republicans refuse to follow Obama?s lead, Americans will see partisan food fights and conclude that Obama had failed to produce change.?

So I guess the incoming Republican Congress won't be able to find any middle ground with your positions? ACA gets passed with no Republican votes. The Senate (Reid) changed the super majority vote rule / filibuster to reduce the minority party governing protections and the first question out of the mouths of democrat talking heads on tv was how would Republicans reach out across the aisle to include democrats in the governing process. Laughable!

Like nyrgravey9 also pointed out?.

Wait so it was not ok for the GOP (Grand Obstructionist Party) to be obstructionists toward Obama and his policies but it will be ok for Obama to be an obstructionist to the GOP and its policies????

Yes it's okay for Obama to obstruct the Neo-Cons. He's the PRESIDENT.

There is a lot of projecting there... Was Bush labeled an "obstructionist" when he went from using his veto pen once during the first six years to 12 by the time he left office?

...I didn't think so.

Why must the articles be written using the same words? Most writers I know try to not recycle the same storylines. They might also have been aware that? this election is just like every single election of a two term president.

I know that you want to think that this election is like the last one, but it isn?t. History has shown that. When Reagan?s Republicans were slaughtered and the Democrats took over in his last term, do you really think it was the death of Republicans? No, they went on to win the White House again. Maybe, just maybe, people with a couple of brain cells that can be rubbed together are recognizing the parallels and not jumping to long form conclusions.

But again, gridlock in and of itself, is not always negative as portrayed by the news (however, it will be seen as positive once the news spins Obama doing it). There are tens of thousands of new laws passed every year by State and Federal government because government needs to show it's doing something. And I don't agree with tightening our proverbial nooses so easily.

If the GOP wants to repeal AND replace ObamaCare with something they can show is more effective, cost efficient, etc., I say go for it. But to repeal just to repeal will be silly.

That said, it is still going to be fun to watch this dance over the next 2 years. I see Barry as a scorched earth kinda guy.

I?m almost right there with you in what you wrote except for two things:
1. LIBRUHL MEDIA!!!!!111!!! ? I?m sorry, but every time I read it, all I can think about is how misguided and uninformed about the entire industry of information presentation.

2. Obama as a scorched earth kind of guy. I?m not sure where you are seeing that. I could see someone saying that about Christie, as his track record shows it, but when has Obama acted in spite? Heck, even the whole birth certificate BS was eventually carted off to pasture when he capitulated to the loons. In doing so, he could have done a song and dance followed by a spiking of the football.

I?m actually more positive on how the Republicans will play this. I would like to think that they?ll not go straight for the impeachment button as a lot of them have already started talking about.

However, the greatest thing about Obama's veto stamp is that now the GOP can put forth legislation to be blocked all day. So now, instead of headlines always reading "GOP blocks XYZ" and "gridlock caused by GOP" the tables will be turned.

You morons on the left touting the veto pen DO realize that is what's going to happen, riiiiight?

Oh, to the black lefty morons on here, you do know that if Barry uses EO to give amnesty to million upon millions of illegals, your homeboy is making African Americans a permanent and under represented minority in this country, riiiiight?

Not sure why Democrats are literally obsessed with bringing up Obama's race but the voters have spoken loud and clear. He is rejected. Chew on that, lol.

I can?t believe I need to point this out yet again? The GOP didn?t do anything especially magical. They were the opposition party to the president in year 6 of his term. Every time a two term president reaches this term, the party gets slaughtered.

It would be a dramatic mistake for Democrats to get too distraught over it and it would be a mistake for Republicans to pound their chest as if they overcame some beast. They won their races and I?ll be interested in seeing if they are actually willing to show up to work now.

I guess this Dem ass-kicking was different because as the Dems (and Obama) explain it? the loss was because 2/3 of the voters stayed home on election day. Yeah right.

Honestly, if you haven?t seen news stories about the Democratic Party losing those elections then you have not turned on your TV or opened a newspaper.

Quote:

nyrgravey9 wrote:
And this idea democrats only lost because of turnout is like saying "ah! We only lost the ballgame because we didn't score enough runs!" Right. That's called LOSING. Considering every news outlet known to man pushed this election across the country, I bring you to my next point.

Contrary to popular opinion, not voting IS a vote in myriad ways.

Dems who stayed home might have done so because they can't stand their nominee but can't hold their noses long enough to vote republican.

?I am not a member of any organized party ? I am a Democrat? ? Will Rogers

Democrats are historically fickle. Did they stay home? Did they not like their candidate? I?d say that a lot of those are possible. But, it is historically known that the GOP voting block routinely turns out for elections while Democrats don?t. In this election, they probably had enough weed to keep them home.

That damn Obama !!!

This is what made the GOP victory so interesting to me. The fundamentals were all positive. You can even add in that Obamcare is doing exactly what it?s supposed to and being successful at it. However, when you are able to drive the narrative it becomes true.

Not for nothing, but?
Reagan?s approval number about the same time in his term was 42 percent. Obama is about 39% (Gallup Daily). Do you really think that is a major difference?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. wow I almost sh*t myself from laughing so hard. I haven't heard anything this sad in a long time. I needed that laugh.

Nothing beats an idiot showing just how f*cking stupid they are by saying "Paul Krugman is great". You could have said "2 + 2 = 8765" and it wouldn't make you look as pathetic.

That lip quivering, liberal weasel Krugman must find it hard to give speeches between full throat blowjobs to Obama.

Also thanks for destroying any and all credibility you may have had, inkblot guy.

You put a lot of words in there but not one of them actually explains why Krugman is wrong. You are merely stating it as if there is no question. As much as you may disagree, at least Krugman made a cogent argument to back up his position. All you?ve written is crass pejoratives.

Actually the genesis of the housing crash which lead to 2008 meltdown occurred when the Clinton democrats loosened the home loan qualifying criteria so anyone could qualify for a loan. It was a noble government idea pushed by Clinton / Kennedy / Dodd / Frank crowd but contradicted the reality about the true cost of home ownership and passing out free money ala Fannie and Freddie. Something "positive" needed to happen because everyone had to feel good after the Dot.Com crash.

It started prior to Clinton with deregulation by Reagan. However, Clinton did sign the bill deregulating things further which ultimately did us all in.

Given Hilary Clinton's health issues, I doubt she will be the nominee in 2016. For the moment anyway, the party is moving farther to the left of her.

There has been noise on the far left of the party about Elizabeth Warren being the nominee. On the more centrists front has been talk of former Sen. Jim Web.

A year is a lifetime in politics... who knows who will actually run?

Oh well, I think a fellow with a Nobel prize in economics (Krugman) has far more credibility than the righties on jclist.

That would be the same former Enron adviser Paul Krugman.

HAAAAAAA! Man, just when I thought you couldn't top yourself. You got me to laugh even harder@!

You're talking about the same Nobel that awarded a Peace prize to Yasser Arafat, and one Mr. Barry Obama before he even did anything?

Oh man, I thought Monday was going to be boring. You never disappoint, my friend!
