While you're on the phone, please ask why almost every red curb in HC has a car parked next to it. Thanks

Just keep calling the Parking Authority & Police non-emergency. The reason he is not getting towed is because what tickets he is getting, he is paying. $80 - $120 a year in tickets is a cheap price to pay for a dedicated spot. This is this jerk's thinking. Talk to Capt. Soletti, East District commander, he's a stand-up guy. I once asked a member of the Fire Dept. what they do in case some jerk is blocking a hydrant they need. The answer - the vehicle will be "pushed" out of the way by whatever means necessary to get to the hydrant. Any damage to the car, oh well, you weren't supposed to be there in the first place. A life is more important than your car. Good Luck.

He's probably a cop. They park in front of both hydrants and 7th and Monmouth every time they're drinking at the Music Box.

Why don't you call the parking authority or the police non emergency number. They don't make you give you information.

Parking in front of a Hydrant

I live in Harsimus Cove. Directly across the street from my home is a fire hydrant. A guy who lives in the house behind that fire hydrant routinely parks directly in front of it. By routinely I mean about 5 days per week. I notice this because when I look out my living room window, this is what I see. Anyway, most mornings I see his car in "its spot" in front of the hydrant. Only about 2-3x/year does he get a ticket.
I'm wondering WHY and HOW he gets away with this. And, if there were to be a fire emergency on the block, what liabilities would he have? He's never towed.
