Did I say it should be expected or anticipated? I don't expect or anticipate it. But, I'm not sitting at home feeling disturbed about it either.

Anybody who has ever worked with David Donnelly can attest to his professionalism, work ethic, and positive attitude, even under difficult circumstances.

He cares deeply about this city and will likely be a huge asset to the JCRA.

"JCRA chief, his salary would be $110,000."

At that salary, how qualified is the person expected to be??

That would be fine with Healy or Jerry McCann, but Steven promised a change in the old pol system. It turns out that Steven is learned well from Jerry McCann and Healy, say one thing and do another.

I've dealt with Dave on an occasional basis ever since he was a mayor's aide and was the point person for various historic preservation issues. He was always a hard worker and didn't sugar coat the city's position or try to BS us.

Does he deserve every position he's gotten? Obviously he has political instincts and involvement. But he's a hard worker and a bright person as well.

The hypocrisy is stunning!!! Dave Donnelly is and has been a marginal city employee for his entire career with the city. Steven talked about getting away from the political paybacks and moving to a more professional city government. He failed miserably with that promise. He never made an effort to even fulfill it. As I have said, the hypocrisy is stunning!!!

Let me repeat, Ray Velazquez had the experienced as a former judge but it was shot down because Councilman Fulop considered it political. Then let?s hear from Fulop?s:

Ask Lavarro. From the original link.

The JCRA sought applicants for Antonicello's replacement this summer. In a statement, Council President Roland Lavarro, who chairs the JCRA board of commissioners, said Donnelly's "vast knowledge, his familiarity with the City and its needs and how to develop all parts of the city was unrivaled."

Like it or not, Morrill does a stellar job on media relations and PR for the City, and did so under Healy. She's not simply a political hack.

And Donnelly has always struck me as a person of integrity. I doubt the appointment was a simple pay-back. The JCRA is an important piece of Fulop's plan for JC. I think he trusts Dave to execute his vision.

O'Dea, Morrill, Razolli, McGreevy, Theiroff, Cowan,Watterman, Kakolwski, Bernheim, Dabney, Harrison.... The list of political patronage paybacks of marginally effective or ineffective appointments mount. We're only a year in folks.

So Morrell's merit is she sucked up to Steven and sold Healy down the drain during the campaign. So that is the standard, such up and having sold Healy down the drain. Steven was going to bring in a new wave of professionals in city government, not the old hacks-as he said!! So far, nothing but political hacks!!!

After an exhaustive national search(according to Morrell), the Mayor picks the guy in the next office. Steven/Ralando, what ever became of bringing in the best and brightest!! More political hacks. Everything Steven accused Healy of doing, he has done in spades! The only think missing hear is Healy!

IMHO, he's only anywhere because his mom has/had political connections. I've never thought he was capable of much, per his prior job perfromances.

The question should be - is he the best person for the job? Like Morrill - another Healy pick - I think he's there on merit. Why do you think differently?

I remember Councilman Fulop arguing with the Healy Administration about placing the same people on the boards, isn't it funny how things never change.
