its a poor description of these two teens, and if the police want help from the public then the media should give much better details

unfortunately some might want to make value, religious or race statements with to much information - sometimes its all to hard when you have to be politically correct, yet some news worthy stories reported by the media can cause riots !

This news report highlights how the media can omit details and are sensitive to social reactions - which I think is a good thing ... no need for sensationalism to sell a story

A Jersey City woman was thrown to the ground and robbed by two teenagers near the Newport Centre mall last night, according to a police report.

The woman was walking on one of the piers off Washington Boulevard behind the mall at around 9:30 p.m., when a teenage male and female approached her, police said. The pair attempted to grab the woman?s cell phone from her hand but failed on their first try, according to the report.

The two juveniles told the woman, ?just give it up or you?re going to get hurt,? and pushed her to the ground before grabbing her purse and running towards the mall, police said.

The woman got up off the ground and followed the teenagers across Washington Boulevard towards the Newport light rail station, but stopped following them at the rail station, the report stated.

While at the scene of the crime, police were approached by a security guard who turned over an ID card and credit cards that belonged to the victim, police said. The security guard said he found the items on Washington Boulevard, according to the report.

The thieves did get away with the woman?s purse and house keys, said police.

Police conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the juveniles, according to the report.

The victim suffered a contusion with an abrasion to her forehead and an abrasion on her left arm when she was pushed to the ground, police said.
