I'm honestly curious - is that really what you believe anyone in this thread is saying?

Of course if this turns out to be true, will we see any apologies for what occurred? Even a tiny hint of personal responsibility? Doubtful.

I?ll posit the question again? When has any culture or civilization ever taken personal responsibility for anything stupid, wrong or dishonest?

Is the Catholic Church apologizing for shuttling pedophiles throughout the world and hiding money so that they won?t have to pay out lawsuits?
Is W apologizing for getting the US into a war in Iraq?
Are the Chinese apologizing for the murder of college kids at Tiananmen Square?
How about the British for their role in enslaving people and then shipping them to other countries?

Sharpton and Jackson have ignored the heinous crimes committed right across the river from Sharpton's base in Jersey City. Not a peep about those murders-and we know why, because they don't fit his racist agenda. A white cop kills a man who assaulted him (broken eye socket), a shop keeper half his size, and robs a store-giant nationwide protest by Sharpton. A Latino cop gets assassinated by a gang banger black felon in JC, not a word, nor about the 'shrine' erected in his sick memory.

Those aren't Fox News, or Breitbart, or Rupert Murdoch stories-they are facts that happened.

The sooner you recognize the problem rather than blame it on others the sooner things will improve-and improve mostly for the minorities who suffer the most.

Isn't that the result we all want?

I don't watch TV at all, and don't listen to any of those blowhards. Actually, I do listen to NPR quite often. But I do also realize that certain sites/sources are extremely biased, which was my point. You apparently fail to account for this.

I'm sorry, what mistaken killing? Nothing here is indicative that any mistake was made. Same with the recent case involving Trayvon Martin.

Same question for you DA, assuming you are not JCMan8, and given your black and white thinking. "You ever consider therapy?"

DTJCVIEW, yes agreed, that is what the Atlantic article said. Excerpt

There are a number of things wrong here. To the extent that killings by the police generate more outrage, it is completely understandable. Police in America are granted wide range of powers by the state including lethal force. With that power comes a special place of honor. When cops are killed the outrage is always different than when citizens are killed. Likewise when cops kill under questionable terms, more scrutiny follows directly from the logic of citizenship. Great power. Great responsibility.

Devils, you, JCMan, Monroe and some others are so obsessed with black people that it's downright pathological, hyper-vigilant and fixated on blackness that I wonder if you're the same person. You can't even mask it.

I'd add that there's a bit of a difference in holding accountable public servants and government institutions, and holding those within the local communities accountable for black-on-black violence?

You think Al and Jesse need to sit down with the Crips, Bloods, and Latin Kings to discuss their rules on use of lethal force? We rightly hold our government and public servants to a higher standard.

I agree with you and VV. I think this thread is pretty polarized - it's pointless to continue debating with people that can't break out of their inability to think in terms other than "black and white". I'll just say that "two wrongs don't make a right". Polarized thinkers on this thread will have a brain-barf with that concept.

You should ask the people of Ferguson this question, along with Al Sharpton and many in the media.

This. The protestors/rioters didn't wait, the media didn't wait, bloggers crying "racism kills innocent black boy again!" aren't waiting, so why are we supposed to wait? Right now a lot of totally baseless accusations are flying to support outright rioting, so why are we the people being told to back off?

VV, I think what you're missing is the fact that the usual suspects such as Al 'Tawana Brawley/Tax cheat' Sharpton are ready to jump on a plane when one black man is killed by a white cop, but ignores the black on black violence that is systemic in many cities across the US and kills thousands a year.

Did Al march in Newark when the cheerleader who just graduated high school was murdered for an iPhone this summer? Or when the Seton Hall Prep/returning college sophomore was murdered in cold blood in West Orange this summer? Or when the Latino cop in JC was murdered in a premeditated assassination? All those who did the killing were black, but because you had one black woman, one white man, and one Latino cop the race-baiters remain silent?

We absolutely can use a dialog on improving race relations (noting, though, that black crime rates were lower in the early 60's-and we know the level of racism then was much higher) but there isn't a dialog when the race-baiters throw around assassination, execution without a shred of evidence.

Ah, the incisive analysis we have all come to expect from Pebs on display here.

Why give a breakdown on an absurd conspiracy theory? What next, you want a breakdown on why batboy isn't real?

I'd love it if your fantasy about how the press operated was true but you couldn't be further off base.

It's actually pretty easy to understand if you have basic knowledge of the workings of capitalism. Might want to do some reading.

I'd suggest spending some time with reporters... Capitalism, it is not. Your basis in your theories on business, mine isn't a theory, it's actual reality of a newsroom borne from actually speaking with those that are editors and reporters.

Maybe next time you suggest to someone that they should "read a book" you get yourself some actual information on the industry you're discussing...

Oh, then you surely believe that Benjamin Crump and other such lawyers are just out for justice and NOT motivated by finances, or that politicians are motivated by public service and NOT the power and money that inevitably comes with public office. Seriously, did you ride the short bus to school?

By the way, I've seen reporters spin stuff I actually saw first hand or worked directly on. The fact that you actually bought the party line on this one shows that you truly have a double digit IQ.

A toxicology report would be handly - Could it be he was drugged to the eyeballs (high level / reading) ... they did mention the use of marijuana .... didn't people claim that marijuana doesn't affect your cognitive skills on JClist ?

Yup. A crazy black man charged at the cops with a knife screaming shoot me!

Silly cops. They should have let the man stab them. After all, oppression/social justice, etc. Time for some more looting.

I hope you realize we are largely digressing from the main point. Being that Ferguson remains out of control, with protestors firing at police and 70+ arrested last night alone. All in support of a robber who has no problem attacking people much smaller than him.

Who very well may have broken the cop's eye socket, tried to grab his gun, and bullrushed him like an animal.

Of course if this turns out to be true, will we see any apologies for what occurred? Even a tiny hint of personal responsibility? Doubtful.

You are wrong. That is about as simple as I can state it.
