The Jersey City Division of Cultural Affairs has partnered with The Friends of Liberty State Park and Liberty House Restaurant to hold Summerfest 2014 throughout July and August, offering the public free outdoor concerts.

The outdoor concerts will vary in genre from the soulful ambiance of jazz to the expressive vibes of Latin-style, while also offering a large pallet of vocal performers and a live DJ. The concerts will be held at the Public Gardens on the eastern side of Liberty House Restaurant located at 76 Audrey Zapp Drive.

A show will be held tonight by Rock and R&B group, Soul Finger from 7 to 9 p.m. Here is the rest of the schedule:

July 13 - Kym Lawrence, Students of Mengwei Shen from 5 to 7 p.m.
July 15 - Spirit of Life, Tru Sol from 7 to 9 p.m.
July 20 - Epic Soul from 6 to 8 p.m.
July 22 - Winard Harper from 7 to 9 p.m.
July 27 - Jazzique from 6 to 8 p.m.

"The free concerts are a great delight for all to enjoy the music and take in the great views of the park and skyline," said President of The Friends of LSP, Sam Pesin.

Morris Pesin, who is considered the "father" of Liberty State Park, began the outdoor concert series in the summer of 1976 when the park first opened.
