And the skunk smell is from skunks. No mystery there. Mom and baby skunk on Sussex taking a stroll early this morning again.

I've lived in this neighborhood since 1998 and it was smelling like poop back then too.

Interesting. I thought the population of downtown, not jc as a whole, was at an all time high simply because of gentrification and all of the luxury buildings that have gone up in the last decade. I know when I get on the train in the morning there are far more people now than when I moved here a decade ago. Either way, the trucks came and the poop smell is gone....for now.

Interestingly, I find it smells when we don't have rain for a few days here in Harsimus Cove. We also get a skunk smell between 8 and 10 several nights a week. Not sure what condos have to do with it. I think it may have more to do with our combined storm and sanitary sewer system. Our population is still about 50,000 less than its all time high in the 1940s, so theoretically less poop is passing thru the collective bowels of the city.

Is downtown going to smell like poop every time it rains from here on out? Maybe it is time to stop building condos?
