 Man sexually assaults woman, cuts her with knife in Jersey City: police By Jonathan Lin/The Jersey Journal on May 22, 2014 at 1:15 PM A man grabbed a woman from behind, forcefully kissed her while tearing at her clothing and cut her on the neck with a box cutter knife while she was fighting him off in Downtown Jersey City sometime between Sunday and Monday, according to police. The allegedly incident took place in the area of York and Grove Streets at 1:55 a.m. on either Sunday or Monday, but no arrests have been made in connection to the case, according to a notice from the Jersey City Police Department that was obtained by The Jersey Journal yesterday. The notice stated that the attack took place on "Sunday, May 19, 2014," but Sunday was May 18, while Monday was May 19. The victim described the man who attacked her to be in his mid-20s, clean-shaven and between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7 in height, the notice stated. He had long, shoulder-length dark hair and gaps in his front teeth, it stated. When contacted yesterday, the Jersey City Police Department redirected questions to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, as the case involves criminal sexual contact. Earlier today, the HCPO stated that no information about the incident could be found through the Special Victims Unit but that the HCPO will continue to check to see if any information becomes available.
