Tommy Hilfiger has signed on to sponsor the Golden Door International Film Festival, one of Jersey City's fastest growing annual events.

The fourth annual festival's founder Bill Sorvino, nephew of Paul and cousin of Mira, says the fashion industry giant and the fest bonded over a common cause.

?Not only is Tommy Hilfiger a fashion icon and captain of industry, but he and his wife, Dee Ocleppo, are on the board of directors of Autism Speaks. Autism awareness has become one of the important missions of the philanthropic arm of the Golden Door Film Festival and we know that this will help propel this mission forward and fast,? said Sorvino in a statement.

Sorvino, who is also an actor, gave The Jersey Journal an idea last year of just how quickly the festival was making a name for itself.
